Giridih Police Launches Public Drinking Water Initiative Amid Severe Heatwave

Deepak Mishra, Jharkhand Spirit : In a humane and commendable initiative amid the scorching summer heat, the Giridih Police has started setting up public drinking water facilities outside police stations to provide relief to commuters and local residents.

Considering the rising temperatures and extreme heat conditions, arrangements for Pyau (free cold drinking water kiosks) have been made outside the Mufassil and Pachamba police station premises in Giridih district. The initiative aims to provide clean and chilled drinking water to passersby and the general public during the ongoing heatwave.

On the occasion of the launch, the Superintendent of Police, Giridih, personally visited the sites and inspected the arrangements in detail. He formally inaugurated the initiative by serving cold drinking water to people present at the locations.

The move has been taken to ensure that pedestrians, daily wage workers, travelers, and local residents do not face difficulties in accessing safe drinking water while moving around in the intense summer heat.

The campaign has initially been started at the Mufassil and Pachamba police stations, and officials stated that similar drinking water facilities will soon be established outside all police stations and OP  premises across Giridih district.

The initiative by Giridih Police has received widespread appreciation from local residents and commuters. Citizens believe that such efforts not only provide much-needed relief during the severe heatwave but also strengthen the bond between the police and the public through a more compassionate and people-friendly approach.
