Deepak Mishra, Jharkhand Spirit : This time, a positive change was witnessed within the Jain community. Members of the Jain Samaj took inspiration from the Muni Sangh and organized nationwide protests against the tragic incident that occurred in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, where a car rammed into three Sadhvis, resulting in the death of two of them on the spot.
Addressing a Dharma Sabha at Gunayatan in Madhuban, Muni Praman Sagar Ji Maharaj said that such incidents have been taking place every year, but earlier people used to limit themselves to protests and complaints at their own level before eventually becoming silent. However, this time the Jain community has shown greater awareness and unity.
He said that inspired by the Muni Sangh, not only the Jain community but also various non-violent communities collectively demonstrated their unity, commitment, and determination through strong protests across the country.
Muni Shri further stated that this alone is not enough. The objective will only be fulfilled when all the demands mentioned in the memorandum are implemented, ensuring that such incidents do not occur again in the future.
He emphasized that society must remain continuously active and vigilant. “Our goal is not merely to punish the culprits and then remain silent, but to ensure that such incidents are never repeated with monks and nuns of any tradition in future,” he said.
