The distribution programme was held at the Police Centre, Giridih, where the recovered mobile phones were handed over to their original owners after being traced through sustained technical investigation and police efforts.
The event was attended by Superintendent of Police (SP), Giridih, along with Deputy Superintendents of Police (Headquarters I & II), Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO), Sadar, and several other police officers and personnel.
Addressing the gathering, the Superintendent of Police said that Giridih Police remains committed to resolving the problems of the public and making every possible effort to recover their lost belongings. He said the primary objective of the "Your Mobile, Back to You" campaign is not only to reunite people with their lost mobile phones but also to strengthen the bond of trust between the police and the public.
The campaign has achieved impressive results over the past two years. Earlier this year, 211 lost mobile phones were recovered and returned to their rightful owners under the same initiative. In 2025, Giridih Police successfully recovered and handed over 426 lost mobile phones to their owners.
The return of the long-lost mobile phones brought visible joy and relief to the beneficiaries. Many recipients expressed their gratitude to Giridih Police for its prompt action, sensitivity, and effective use of technology in tracing the devices.
The initiative reflects Giridih Police's growing emphasis on technology-driven policing and citizen-friendly services, reinforcing public confidence in the district police's commitment to safeguarding people's property.
