West Bengal Tourist Dies While Trekking Parasnath Hill in Jharkhand

Jharkhand Spirit : A 20-year-old tourist from West Bengal died after reportedly falling ill while trekking Parasnath Hill, one of the most revered Jain pilgrimage sites, in Giridih district of Jharkhand on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Ali Imam, a resident of Rahimpura village under Kulti police station in Paschim Bardhaman district, West Bengal. He had arrived at Madhuban with a group of friends to visit and explore the famous hill.

According to local sources, the group was ascending the steep stretch of the hill when Ali Imam suddenly complained of discomfort. His condition deteriorated rapidly, and he collapsed after losing consciousness.

With the help of local motorcycle riders, his friends rushed him to the Madhuban Hospital. However, doctors declared him dead on arrival.

The incident turned what had begun as an enthusiastic outing into a tragic experience for the group and once again raised concerns over the availability of emergency medical facilities along the Parasnath Hill trekking route, which attracts thousands of pilgrims and tourists throughout the year.

Madhuban Police took custody of the body and informed the victim's family. Further legal formalities are being carried out.
