Deepak Mishra, Jharkhand Spirit : Acting on the directions of Superintendent of Police (SP) Dr. Bimal Kumar, Giridih Police conducted a special district-wide anti-crime checking drive to strengthen crime control, deter criminals and ensure the safety of citizens.
To make the operation effective, the SP directed all Sub-Divisional Police Officers (SDPOs), Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), Circle Inspectors, and all Station House Officers (SHOs) and OP in-charges to remain present in the field and personally monitor the campaign till late at night.
During the drive, police set up barricades at important intersections and other sensitive locations across the district. Two-wheelers and four-wheelers were thoroughly checked, while vehicle documents were verified. Police personnel also stopped and searched suspicious persons and questioned them when required.
The police kept a close watch on suspicious activities to prevent any criminal incidents and take action against offenders before they could commit any crime.
SP Dr. Bimal Kumar said that maintaining effective crime control and providing a fear-free environment to the public are the police's top priorities. He said the checking drive is not a one-time exercise and similar surprise operations will continue in any police station area across the district without prior notice to keep criminals under constant pressure.
He also appealed to the public to cooperate with the police during checking and immediately inform the nearest police station if they notice any suspicious person or activity.
