According
to the police, acting on a specific tip-off, a cyber police team conducted a
raid near Punaidih village under
Gandey police station. The
information suggested that a group of cyber criminals was operating from a
damaged house near a nursery and carrying out fraudulent activities through
mobile phones. A special raiding team was formed under the leadership of Cyber Police Station In-charge Rameshwar
Bhagat, and two suspects were apprehended during the operation.
During
interrogation, the arrested accused allegedly admitted that they used fake SIM cards to impersonate RTO
officials and medical professionals. Police said they cheated victims by
collecting money under the pretext of clearing RTO challans and scheduling appointments with doctors
The
arrested persons have been identified as:
- Md.
Kaif Ansari (21),
son of Ibrahim Miya.
- Md.
Irshad Ansari (19),
son of Md. Arif Ansari.
Both are
residents of Baksigarha village
under Gandey police station in
Giridih district.
Police
recovered six mobile phones, seven SIM
cards, one iPad, and two motorcycles from the possession of the accused.
Investigators believe these items were used in carrying out the cyber frauds.
The raid
was carried out by a team comprising Cyber
Police Station In-charge Rameshwar Bhagat, Gunjan Kumar, Gandey Police
Station In-charge Anand Kumar, Gajendra
Kumar, and other police personnel from Gandey Police Station and the
district police force.
